How to become a Member 


There are five (5) membership categories in WCC, namely, National Entity, National Associate Member, International and Regional NGO Member, Individual Member, and Honorary Member.

National Entity Member: Only two (2) National Entity Members (as ratified in the GA 2008) from any country may be a Member of WCC, with full voting privileges. The term 'National Entity' shall mean the group, partnership, corporation, association, foundation or other organization within a country, or a governmental office, ministry, or agency within a country which best represents the crafts of such country in the context of WCC activities. National Entities apply to the relevant WCC Region. The application is considered by the Regional Executive Board. Their admission is submitted to the General Assembly for ratification.  Membership dues in WCC is set at US$ 100 payable annually.

National Associate Member: In addition to National Entities, WCC Regions may also admit National Associate Members. National Associate Members do not have voting rights. National Associate Members apply to the relevant WCC Region. The application is considered by the Regional Executive Board. Their admission is submitted to the General Assembly for ratification. Membership dues in WCC is set at US$ 100 payable annually.

International and Regional NGO Member: Further to the recommendations of the Executive Board, the General Assembly may accept for affiliation to WCC those international and regional Non-Governmental Organizations, which are sympathetic to the role of crafts in society and operate related programmes. International and Regional NGO Members do not have voting rights. Applications for International and Regional NGO Members are submitted to WCC Secretariat or the relevant WCC Region, respectively. Membership dues in WCC is set at US$ 100 payable annually.

Individual Member ('Friend of WCC'): Practicing craftspersons and/or supporters of crafts and crafts development, who accept to promote the principles and objectives of WCC, may be admitted as Individual Members of WCC. Individual Members do not have voting rights. Membership dues in WCC for individuals is set at US$ 50 payable annually.

Honorary Members: An Honorary Member is recommended by a National Entity and admitted by vote of the General Assembly. Honorary Members do not pay fees and do not have voting rights.

Suspension/Limitation of Membership: The rights and privileges of membership of a member of WCC found to be in violation of its obligations, including the non-payment of its annual contribution to WCC for a period of two (2) years, may be suspended or limited by the Executive Board until such time as the matter has been finally determined by the General Assembly.

Cancellation of Membership: Any membership in WCC may be cancelled by the General Assembly provided, however, that at least two-thirds (2/3) of the voting members present shall agree.
